My daughter expressed an interest in learning to play the Scottish drum, and we read an article featuring the Pocono Regional Pipes and Drums in the Pocono Record.
What helped you decide to join?
It had been years since I had played with a band. When my daughter Erin had joined in the fall of 2000, I remembered how much fun it was, and decided it was time to be part of a pipe band again.
What are some of your fondest memories with the band?
Playing at West Point and at Celtic Fest are two memories I am most fond of. I also enjoyed the competitions.
What is/are your favorite Tune(s)?
Actually, I can't really say - I like so many. Every time I think about one special tune, another favorite pops into my head. My favorite kinds of tunes are piobaireachds, slow airs, 6/8 marches, and strathspeys.
What are the manufacturer of pipes played?
The set of pipes I play today are the same pipes I've had since high school - old Hardies (c. late 1950's).
How long have you played?
I've been a piper for over thirty years.
What do you do outside of the band?
My husband and I run a florist shop and greenhouse.
What town and state do you live in?
White Twsp, NJ.
